#16: new vlog

First of all, Blogger (finally!!!!!) has been given a makeover.

Secondly, I am in the midst of shooting and editing a brand new vlog for Best Food KL. I shoot a bit, and then I edit it... and then I compile it into ONE vlog. I THINK (!!!!!) it's a great video concept and I can't wait to share it with you.

I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately - from fashion, lifestyle, travels, personal vlogging - and I am still finding my niche and I am still bouncing ideas about what works and what doesn't!

If you have an interesting video ideas that I should do, or if you want to recommend a restaurant that I should must visit, then drop an email here. I appreciate your feedback and support!

Finally since I'm still new to YouTube, so please please please give my humble videos some support.

#12: #bersih5

Just in case you do not know, I am a Social Media Reporter/Editor for Astro AWANI. I was assigned to cover Bersih 5 yesterday, just to provide social media updates as the event unfolds. I stationed myself at the Masjid Jamek LRT station before moving to KLCC just like everyone else.

I could not go home after that as it was crowded at the KLCC station.

After that I forced my brother to treat me Godiva ice-cream. Haha.

#11: personal training

So I've been hitting the gym a few times. To say regularly would be a total lie, so let's keep it as "a few times" here. I do the basics like treadmill and stationary bike. Sometimes I use the weights and stuff. The thing is, it's all stuff that I learned from watching YouTube videos and fitness websites. I often doubt myself if I am doing it right. So far I've not injured myself. *grateful*

A few days back, I hired a personal trainer. Let's keep his identity a secret on this blog for now - cuz he is a celebrity and has graced a regional television channel. *kelas tak hire a celebrity personal trainer? hehe*

For now it's a one off session just for me to learn the basics. I can't afford to hire him on a full time basis just yet.

Anywayyy... my trainer is nice but he really pushed me right from the beginning. When I run of the treadmill, my maximum would just be 5 or 6. My trainer pushed me to level 10. TEN! SEPULUH!!!

I was a runner for my school so I could handle it but after that, I was just dead. He asked me to do side planks... I told him I needed some rest. Luckily he was kind enough to just let me rest before we did some weights exercises and squats.

So I got some tips and advise on my diet as well. It won't be a TOTAL diet makeover, due to Best Food KL. I need to eat, k?

I need to share my food diary but I promise him I'll be as honest as I can. Now I'm afraid. Did I eat ALL that? #sigh

#10: teh o ais limau satu!

I was at Capital Cafe, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman for late lunch. I was kinda thirsty so I wanted an extra Iced Lemon Tea. So I saw some guy ordering the lady in the kitchen and pointed to some table.

*Ahhhh, he must be the waiter*

I innocently asked the guy, "Teh O Ais Limau satu!"

He ignored me *Eh... hello??? how could he?*

So remember he was pointing to some table I said earlier? That's HIS table. So, he smiled at me and just sat there.

Upon realising that he is a customer and NOT a waiter, I immediately apologised. I wasn't sure if he could hear me or not but I was completely embarrassed and speechless.

Forget the extra drink; we immediately left the place and got our drink elsewhere.

See my post on Capital Cafe here and here.

#9: baked cheese tarts

I still remember years back, KLites would queue for long hours just for J.Co donuts. How I know? Because I was one of them. I heard all about the hype and decided to just be part of the queue at their Pavilion outlet. *After that I got lost at the car park. I still remember that day vividly. #memories*

From time to time, new food trends would emerge. Correct me if I am wrong but I find that the current IT food item is the Baked Cheese Tart.

The two new brands that come to mind is Hokkaido and Tokyo Secret. I've been to both but let me tell you something. Apart from the difference in size (and price... Tokyo Secret is priced at RM7.90 per piece OKAY??!), I can't tell much difference between the two. Both are just sinfully yummy with is overflowing with cheese.

Oh, I've tried the Hazelnut Cheese Tart from Tokyo Secret. That's another delightful treat.

Check out my Instagram post on Hokkaido here and from Tokyo Secret here and here.

#8: dah bayar saman?

Wanted to be a good citizen by paying my traffic summon. Oh yes, I beat the red light one night, and there it was... I could see the flash from the hidden camera. It has been three weeks since the incident and since I could spare some extra cash to pay the RM150 summon, I decided to go to The Curve to just settle it.

I reached the counter feeling excited and all and this was my conversation with the guy at the counter.

Him: Mintak slip saman!
Me: Tak dapat slip saman, saya langgar lampu merah.
Him: Minta IC
Me: Kasi plate number kereta boleh? *Car driven not under my name, so no point giving my IC number*
Him: Ok kasi plate number kereta
Me: *Gives him the plate number*
Him: Oh, ni ada dua saman ni. Satu langgar isyarat lampu merah, satu lagi memandu melebihi had laju.
Me: *In shock I got two summons* Saya bayar yang pertama boleh?
Him: Ok, RM150.

So yeah, he wasn't friendly at all. But that's not the point.

The point is...

#7: roadtrip to melaka

First of all, I should make it a point to include a photo in EVERY post. However, I didn't snap any photos during my short road trip to Melaka today.

I went to Melaka with my family to visit someone and just to check out stuff at the kampung. How can I say 'No' to my mum when she has been talking about visiting her relatives in Melaka this whole week. Luckily, my fave cousin tagged along as well... so the road trip was not so boring.

Seriously, it was a SHORT trip. Within two hours, we were ready to go back to KL.

I didn't know there would be heavy traffic from the KLIA exit to Shah Alam.

I don't mind the stagnant traffic. I was just scared about my petrol. There were only 3 bars left! If my brother followed on this trip, he would just say "Alaaaa boleh pergi jauh lagi. Jangan risau."

I izzz sangat risau. Sigh.

#6: i'm gonna miss her

She is about to give birth and welcome a bundle of joy. As such, she will be working from home from next week onwards, before officially going on maternity leave for the next three months or so.

I am gonna miss this office bestie here. Gonna miss our gossip sessions at the canteen or in the car! Hahaha!

Can't wait for the baby to arrive... next week!

#5: coffee for one

I had breakfast at Rotiboy this morning -- ALONE!. I took two sandwiches and went to the counter to order my coffee.

On the board it said the coffee is priced at RM3++ but it was RM6++ on the register machine.

"Oh, it must some special coffee. Starbucks pun RM12++ for a cuppa kot. Takkan coffee RM3 kat Rotiboy!"

She left and went to prepare my coffee. I was expecting some "special coffee". Cappuccino maybe? Flat white?

Not quite. She came back with two cups of coffee.

I wanted to dine-in, so now I have to pretend that the second coffee is for my invisible friend. I looked like a loser. I finished one cup at the cafe and the other one in the car on the way home.

I am gonna be an owl tonight.

#4: sore throat

As you may know, I have sore throat... AGAIN!!!!

Instead of consuming one of those over-the-counter throat lozenges - I've decided to just heal my sore throat "naturally". One by just drinking loads of water. *My colleague was surprised by the amount of mineral water I bought*

I consumed some natural honey. I am also avoiding fried food and spicy food. My condition has improved as compared to yesterday... I hope tomorrow is going to be better.

#3: life's little surprises

First of all, this is a feat. Third consecutive day of blogging. This is an accomplishment.

Anyway, just like any Mondays, the blues kicked in real bad. As I was taking a break from work, I received a WhatsApp from my brother/friend Raz. It has been ages since we communicated (more like a month, dramatic me!) so it's kinda cool to receive a message from him. He is one of the few friends that I have that truly make the effort. Even if we don't get to meet, he'll message me asking me how I am doing.

We should appreciate these kind of friends. Not everybody makes the effort anymore. I mean, there's social media and we get to know each other's updates - but it's different when it's more personal.

PS: I'm sick. I've been drinking a lot of iced water/beverages these past few days. It does not help that I  was just recovering from sore throat/cough last week. Now - I'm SICK again. I'm not gonna go to the doctor, otherwise he'll give me this weird stare like "You're. sick. AGAIN?!?!"

#2: back to salad diet

Around this time last year, I kept myself busy with #syafvolution - a fitness "movement" I started to keep myself fit (and maybe shed a few kgs). Earlier this year, I got sick and after the recovery process, I just didn't do much exercise as I had hoped for.

I wanted to start again after my brother's wedding - but that was last month. SO. NOW. After attending the I Eat Nasi Lemak event yesterday, I have decided that it's time. It's time to hit the gym, do some exercises and eat right. So it was salad and cranberry juice for dinner tonight.

Just like this blog, I hope I can keep the momentum going.

PS: I'm so glad we made it to #2. Was kinda lazy to blog. *Cis... macamanalah nak jadi successful*

#1: one

I miss blogging. I miss personal blogging.

This time, the key word is CONSISTENCY. I wanna try blogging (almost!) everyday - even if it means I'll just share a one word post (??) or a quote! I have a rough idea of what I wanna share here - but you gotta follow this blog to find out!

I started a personal blog a decade ago but it has been on and off - I've never been consistent at it. That's why I've never been "successful" at blogging.

Ok I wanna keep this short, so that I have more stuff to write tomorrow.
